Established record
Garamond is a federation, not a renamed monarchy. Its forces invade Loknar in August 1210 and defeat the remaining organized defense by March 1211. Occupied Loknar becomes an approach toward Garabech. A March 1223 Garabech counterattack restores a road without eliminating Garamond’s nearby positions.
Government & wartime authority
Proposed government: constituent states elect their own executives and appoint delegations to a Federal Council. A council majority selects a federal premier, while constitutional amendments require state ratification. A separate elected Chamber votes taxation; a federal court arbitrates state disputes but wartime security laws narrow political liberties. The premier may be removed by a constructive confidence vote naming a replacement. State treasuries remit fixed shares to federal defense, while occupation revenue becomes a disputed supplement. Emergency mobilization places railway schedules under federal control but does not abolish state budgets. Axis alignment is a policy of the governing coalition, not a necessary feature of every federation.
Armed forces & sustainment
Proposed military: state-raised divisions standardize battalion structure and ammunition but initially retain different vehicles. Federal railway troops and artillery groups support major operations. A three-regiment division contains a mixed service command to reconcile state supply systems. Occupation forces hold junctions while mobile columns pursue threats to rail traffic. Medical services begin as state responsibilities and are pooled after evacuation failures. Replacements arrive through state depots, sometimes unevenly; federal training inspections attempt to reduce that disparity.
Campaigns & the later war
Proposed continuation: from 1228 state governments resist additional assessments as occupation consumes more supplies than it returns. Loknar resistance and Garabech advances force railway withdrawals during 1229. A federal coalition change in 1230 authorizes negotiations, but several state commanders require direct orders before disarming. The resulting settlement restores Loknar sovereignty and audits appropriated transport assets.
The civilian experience
Proposed accounts distinguish conscript experience, federal propaganda and civilian opposition. The political drama centers on states seeking to protect their own resources after supporting a collective offensive, and on returning soldiers discovering that the occupation’s promised profits have become debts.

A federal offensive paid for by unequal members
The proposed Federal Council assigns military contributions among states with different industries, populations and transport systems. A member providing ammunition may claim it has contributed as much as one providing infantry, while a border state demands extra protection because its territory carries the supply routes. The premier must translate those competing claims into a force that can operate together.
A federal clearing account records matériel, transport and personnel commitments separately before assessing the common burden. That improves coordination but also gives state governments evidence with which to challenge national policy. The Loknar campaign therefore has a domestic history: offensive success can strengthen the premier, while prolonged occupation exposes the gap between winning territory and financing its control. The federation’s politics remain recognizable even while it participates in the Axis war.
