Strategic objective
The two Axis attackers seek to make Avenrath divide its reserves until neither threatened sector can hold. Confederacy leaders must coordinate provincial contingents without dissolving their command arrangements.
Ground & operational constraints
Separated approach corridors feed a river system inside Avenrath. Lateral roads, rather than the main frontier fortifications, determine whether reserves can shift in time.

Fighting, tactics & logistics
Olyssan fixes the northern defenders while Drazet attacks bridge approaches. Avenrath initially parcels out reserves, losing two forward supply zones. A joint confederate staff then establishes a rotating central reserve and standardizes bridge signals. Winter counterattacks recover staging ground without driving either invader from the wider campaign.
Civilian consequences
Provincial hospitals disagree over reimbursement for soldiers from other members. Emergency federal credit keeps care functioning while evacuation disperses river communities.
Outcome & wider significance
An expensive defensive survival for Avenrath. The documented April 1209 invasion is preserved; exact phases and dates are proposed. The coalition learns that separate offensives cannot reliably trap an army with functioning lateral communications.
